About Matt BlackburnMatt has 14 years of experience working as an osteopath in Hobart and Sorell, treating teenagers to older adults, and is a member of Osteopathy Australia.
He studied Osteopathy at RMIT University as a mature-aged student, graduating in 2010. He enjoys the challenge of working out what is causing pain and discomfort and how, through careful examination, hands-on treatment, advice and exercise, he may best improve their movement and health. |

In clinic, Matt takes time to carefully question the person about their problem and then do a thorough physical examination to form an accurate assessment. Following on from that he provides hands-on treatment, postural and practical advice and often teaches specific exercises that can be done at home.
He enjoys the challenge of working out the cause of pain and discomfort and how he can best help their condition and health using hands-on treatment, advice and exercise. He believes it is essential to consider the whole person, including any illnesses, mental health and lifestyle factors, to assist with their treatment and management. He has a keen interest in the human body and how it works. He has participated in many areas of study, including Classical Osteopathy, Neural and Visceral manipulation, Chronic pain, Neurology and Manual Lymphatic Drainage.
